There’s no denying it: positivity helps us get through the toughest of days. Positivity can help us stay healthy and less stressed, and increase our productivity and how much we enjoy our jobs. Whether you’re a driver, a technician, a supervisor, or an office worker here at Rohrer Bus, or even if you don’t work at Rohrer Bus, there are always ways to spread some positivity and make every day a bit better!
Smile, even when you don’t feel like it! Smiling tricks our brains into feeling happier, and smiles are contagious, which can make our coworkers feel happier too.
Say thank you! If somebody does something nice for you or does something that makes your day easier or brighter, let them know.
Give somebody a compliment! Did your coworker do something really well? Do they simply look nice today? Tell them! Make it a goal to give at least one compliment a day.
Lend a hand! This could be something as big as helping a coworker finish a project, or as small as holding the door for somebody who has their hands full; it all makes a difference.
Recognize hard work! This is more for supervisors or managers, but let people know that you appreciate their hard work. The reward can be a treat or present of some sort, but it doesn’t have to be. Sometimes acknowledgement and appreciation can make all the difference.
Know people’s names! When people, especially ones you don’t talk to often, know you took the time to learn their names, they’ll feel appreciated. When people feel appreciated, they’ll feel happy and positive overall.
Actively listen to people! This follows the same train of thought as the point above, but when people know you’re engaged with them and truly hearing them out, they’ll feel appreciated.
Most of these points focus on how you can brighten others’ days, and with good reason. When you positively affect somebody else’s outlook, you’ll get the satisfaction of knowing you made their day better, which should make you feel great!
Positivity is contagious, so do your best to spread it around! If you have any other positivity tips that we missed, let us know in the comments below!
