DUNCANNON, PA, May 11, 2020 – Thomas Built Buses, the nation’s leading manufacturer of school buses, recently announced the 2019 Train the Trainer STARS Awards digitally in lieu of holding an in-person ceremony. In this announcement, Cody Barrick, Rohrer Bus’s General Manager of Parts & Service, formerly Service Trainer Coordinator, achieved Platinum level.
The STARS Program (Service Trainer Awards for Reaching the Stars) is a reward program created by Thomas Built Buses to reward trainers at Thomas-associated dealerships who go above and beyond.
The STARS Program awards are structured in different levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Achieving each level requires a minimum accumulation of points, which are earned by hosting training events, within a calendar year. Bronze is first achievable tier, and Platinum is the highest, and most difficult to attain, tier. Cody achieved the esteemed Platinum award in 2018, and once again in 2019.
Cody hosted an impressive amount of training events throughout 2019. These include 40 in-house training events at all Rohrer Bus shops, which included Rohrer Bus technicians; 2 Vendor classes, which were presented by vendor personnel to Rohrer Bus technicians; and 7 Customer classes, which were multiple-day classes Cody lead at various locations, teaching the Thomas product to customers at or near their location.
“As trainer, it was always my goal to score Platinum,” said Cody of his achievement. He described how he carefully tracked his points and worked until he accumulated enough to achieve Platinum. Cody continued on to thank his coworker Ryan Renninger for his assistance with many training activities, saying “our Customer Support person is equally as instrumental to supporting the Thomas product.”
“Cody prides himself on going above and beyond to make sure all Rohrer Bus technicians have the skills to troubleshoot and repair the most difficult of problems, and our customers are able to do the same” said Skip Rohrer, President of Rohrer Bus Sales; “We would like to thank Cody for all of his hard work and leadership, and sincerely congratulate him on his accomplishment. It is very important that our customers have access to excellent after-sale support and all the information they need to maintain their product, and I believe they are in great hands with Cody.”
